A. Harry Moore Revitalization Grant Application

Phase I and II of the A. Harry Moore revitalization is currently under construction.  144 new, attractive mixed-income rental apartments are being created on land previously occupied by four high-rise towers.  Recently, the JCHA began relocating families living in the remaining three high-rise towers to prepare for the buildings' eventual demolition.  In their place, the JCHA, in consultation with the A. Harry Moore Resident Management Corporation, A. Harry Moore residents and neighborhood residents will devise a revitalization plan for more low-density mixed income housing and community space.

In order to accomplish the next phases of revitalization the JCHA will be preparing a federal HOPE VI Revitalization Grant application to submit to the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) by the deadline of November 7, 2007.  A copy of HUD's "Notice of Funding Availability" for the HOPE VI Revitalization grants is available at:  www.hud.gov/offices/pih/programs/ph/hope6/grants/fy07/index.cfm

Anyone interested in participating in a public planning meeting for this revitalization is invited to attend one of three public meetings the JCHA will schedule in September and October.  Meeting dates, times and places will be posted on this website, advertised in the local newspapers and provided to community organizations for distribution.
