Homeownership Opportunity Program

Dwight Street Homes represents the JCHA's first effort at providing affordable homeownership to first-time homebuyers.  As New Jersey's first public housing homeownership program approved by HUD, Dwight Street Homes promotes homeownership - the ultimate in resident self-sufficiency, while serving as a catalyst for neighborhood redevelopment and stability.

Dwight Street Homes is an award-winning (1996 NAHRO Design Merit Award and 1998 HUD Secretary's Award for Excellence) public housing development with homeownership opportunity.  Located on scattered, formerly blighted and vacant lots on Dwight Street, Fulton Avenue and Stegman Street, Dwight Street Homes stabilizes a mixed-income community with attractive three- and four-bedroom townhouses for renters and homeowners of various incomes.
