An applicant (individual or family) is potentially qualified is he or she meets all of
the following criteria:
 | Is a family, as defined in HUD Regulations; |
 | Has an annual income at the time of admission that either does not exceed the
income limits for occupancy established by HUD, or, for
homeownership developments, is within the approved income range. |
 | Provides a social security number for all family members, or can document and
certify that they do not have social security numbers; |
 | Heads a household in which all members of the household who receive assistance are
either citizens or eligible immigrants; and |
 | Head(s) of household and each family member, who is at least 18 years of age and
legally competent, shall sign one or more consent forms, or other materials necessary to
complete or verify the family's eligibility for housing assistance. |
Meeting the above eligibility requirements does NOT in itself entitle an applicant to
house eligibility within the JCHA. All applicants must meet the JCHA's Applicant
Selection criteria, which are used to determine if an applicant will make a suitable
tenant.
