JCHA Resident Advisory Board: The JCHA Resident Advisory Board was formed in 1999 as a result of requirements by HUD that all Public Housing Authorities develop and implement five year agency plans. The Resident Advisory Board is a group of approximately 40 (forty ) residents who meet with JCHA staff to discuss plans, issues and concerns of the agency. Each public housing development is represented by residents who reside at the development. A series of meetings is organized each September in preparation of submission of an annual agency plan which is due to HUD in January of the next year. Discussions and workshops include policy and procedure updates, safety and security concerns and recommendations to address , financial status of the agency and capital improvement issues for the various developments. The Fall sessions culminate in a public meeting each December to advise the JCHA Board of Commissioners of staff and resident recommendations for the upcoming Annual Agency Plan.
